SAUK & ScoliosisNutty

Image
I wanted to blog about our friends over at SAUK who now have over 600 members on their Facebook page! On their page they keep their members updated with all the latest news from the SAUK and the SCF. You can join them by visiting Facebook and Twitter! The Scoliosis Association (UK) is the only national charity that provides support, advice and information for people affected by scoliosis and the Scoliosis Campaign Fund is its fundraising arm, which raises vital funds to ensure that they can continue to provide support and fund research into the cause of the condition. If you want the latest information from the SAUK and SCF team straight to your news feed then join them on their social networks. SAUK will be using both sites to keep you up-to-date with news and information about scoliosis and the work that they are doing. They want to tell you about meetings in your area, ways they can provide you with more support and the latest information from international research conferen...

The Loss Of Life

Some of you may or may not have noticed my lack of contribution to my own network since the 11th April, I felt I wanted to explain to those who were not aware of what was happening with my life at the moment, especially as I have constantly been heavily involved with the support of Scoliosis patients since 2004! Sadly and heart breakingly I lost my best friend and husband on the 11th April, since then I have been "existing" and trying to find a way to get through the enormous pain in my heart and the feelings of lonliness that have been with me ever since, Chris (my husband) was a great Scoliosis support for me and I miss him to lean on, he did a LOT for me as he understood the problems I faced with daily living, and for someone who didn't have Scoliosis I think that was amazing of him to show such understanding of my condition. Had it not been for Chris I would not have created all the groups, websites and blogs that I run - he was the one who pushed me into creating m...

Facebook & Being Annoyed!

Image
Well I don´t really know where to start with this, so I guess I will just go from the beginning! 3 weeks ago my account was compromised and I contracted the "Koobface" virus, a friend informed me that I was sending viruses out through my Facebook account, so, I updated my status from Twitter informing everyone that the message that was coming was NOT from me and to ignore, majority of my friends knew it was not me as the spelling was so bad - and I can spell! So, the saga now continues, I have been locked out of my Facebook account, I cannot reset my password as Facebook informs me that my Facebook friends have reported me for abuse (NICE!), now, as I am not in the habit of abusing people online (I abuse people to their face, come on!) and neither do I swear on my Facebook page I was confused as to why I could have been reported for abuse. I have been writing to Facebook EVERY single day about this problem, I am very concerned as all my credit card details are in my account a...

Find a Cure for Scoliosis

Image
Today we started a cause on Facebook to help raise the awareness of Scoliosis around the globe while raising money for the Scoliosis Research Society at the same time. Please help drive our cause, share our link with your friends and spread the word, our aim is to raise $1,000 by the end of September this year. All of our readers know how Scoliosis makes us feel and wouldn't it be lovely to know where our Scoliosis came from and change us from being "unknown" to categorised with a meaning behind the disease? Thanks for your continued support with the scoliosis blog, website and support group.
