Getting better by the day

Scoliosis Support Website

It has been 2 days since I last wrote and life has got slightly easier since I have had my first Bowen session.

Wednesday was a hard day and early morning but by Thursday night I was able to move my head from side to side again and the neck pain has subsided, when I came back on Tuesday I was in agony and couldn't look left or right without moving my whole body.

I went to bed at 1.30 on Wednesday morning and woke at 6am, took some Ibuprofen and got into the spare bed and made myself a little pillow camp and settled there until waking at 9am, I cancelled my appointment to see the Orthopaedic Dr in Benalmadena because the car alarm went a bit dodgy and we couldn't get the windows up, on the dash it said all 4 doors were open and the indicators kept flashing so I could hardly drive the car and park in a public car park and leave the windows open!

I got back into bed - yes you hear me right, I got back into bed and slept until 11am, I was so amazed as I had been getting just 3 hours sleep a night before Bowen, I would prefer it to be 8 hours solid instead of 4 hours here and 4 hours there.

Last night I had some twinges in my pelvic area and near my vagina, I wouldn't say it hurt but gave me uncomfort but when the short, sharp pains came that was slightly worse as it made me suck in my breath, those pains didn't last for very long though so it was easy to cope with.

I am standing straighter when I get out of bed still but walking first thing is a bit of a struggle and I feel like one wrong move and I will snap, I am very precarious as if I am balancing on a very thin wire and one wrong move will give me enormous amounts of pain leaving me unable to balance myself.

I have been resting as instructed and drinking plenty of water, at least 8 glasses a day and eating a healthy diet to keep my body as optimum as I can - if only I could lay off the pain killers, I really do not like taking pain killers!

Food and Herbs for the body and pain relief

It was suggested to me that I should also try some strong pot (Marijuana) while I am going through this rough patch, try to knock myself out a bit more and enable me to get my much needed sleep.

Any thoughts on Marijuana for Scoliosis and pain relief out there?

My next appointment with Bowen is next Tuesday and I must admit I am looking forward to it and I hope she can get me right.

I have scoliosis in the lower part of my back and also use marijuana. I find it more effect for cutting the pain in half then fogging my mind and making me sleep. I have children and have to keep my wits about me. I live in the USA and don't have health insurance anyways, so pain pills are too expensive. A little pot goes a long way.
I wish you luck in the UK in getting this legalized.
Wishing you peace, light and courage.

Hi Nicki

Nice to hear from you and sorry that you do not re cannot get have insurance so therefore cannot get help. In the UK we have what we call the NHS system and this entitles all British Nationals to receive quality healthcare - it is funded by tax payers money, this means you can have prescriptions for drugs and are not left to suffer, don't get me wrong there are plenty of holes in this system but at least we can get pain meds!

I did try Marijuana and found it to be helpful, I read up about it and it is the THC in the plant that give the pain relief. I always say what works for one doesn't always work for the other but continue to use what does work for you, it is hard to live in constant pain.

Please keep in touch and be well

Simone
